The objective of this investment is to coordinate ongoing smart cities initiatives regarding smart parking, smart lighting and smart waste collection management into a nationwide implementation plan in all Cyprus municipalities.
It will involve the installation of at least 97,000 smart sensors in municipalities, their connection to the central smart cities’ platform and the development of three mobile applications for the smart solutions.
Up to date, a study for the development of a National Smart Cities Platform for the implementation of vertical solutions for smart cities was concluded in June 2022.
The tender regarding the implementation of the above has been announced and the procedure is ongoing.
