Follow-up project for the implementation of an electronic file system in Burgenland
The European Commission aimed to implement an electronic file system in Burgenland, focusing on modernising the state administration and simplifying business processes. It sought to digitalise specific processes (identified in a preliminary project), enhancing administrative resilience and efficiency, ultimately aiming for a more streamlined electronic file system.
Context
Building on a previous project, and within the framework of a larger digitalisation project implemented by Land Burgenland, this project focused on digitalising and simplifying processes for administration staff. Challenges included the need to digitalise and improve processes while managing the shift and ensuring proper training and transition for staff.
Support delivered
The support involved analysing and remodelling processes. Key activities included further business processes reengineering, change management through training and manuals, and supporting the definition of new work profiles fitting the redesigned processes. In addition, the project defined a quality assurance framework and a knowledge management strategy to guide and monitor reform implementation.
Results achieved
The project delivered a comprehensive digital transformation model, emphasising redesigned processes and providing robust training resources. The benefits include simpler and faster processes, structured quality assurance, and established review mechanisms.
