Industrial ecosystems - Integrated policymaking in the area of Research, Development and Innovation – RDI
Supporting Slovakia to develop a coordinated government approach to research, development, and innovation (RDI) with the aim to enhance productivity, increase the share of added value in industrial production, and prepare companies for strategic foreign investments and collaborations.
Context
The Research and Innovation Authority of Slovakia (VAIA) needed to define an implementation mechanism to support supply chains and industrial ecosystems and to facilitate the work of RIS3 domains and the entrepreneurial discovery process.
Support delivered
The contractor delivered with EU finding and support and the active involvement of VAIA the following artefacts:
- One industrial strategy on automotives and one on robotization and their respective action plans.
- A methodology on how to develop industrial strategies in the future.
Training sessions for public servants on using the methodology to develop further strategies.
Results achieved
Slovakia is more prepared to prepare its own integrated industrial strategies. This will have a positive impact on the manufacturing sector which will become more innovative and more integrated in terms of supply chains.
