Description

The European Commission aims to strengthen Malta's capacity to combat trafficking in human beings by supporting the development of a National anti-trafficking strategy and Action Plan (2024-2030). The project has contributed to actions that strengthen national coordination, improve support for victims and bolster the effective prosecution of traffickers. The Council of Europe provided its technical support to the Maltese authorities to design and implement a new Anti-trafficking Strategy and Action Plan in accordance with international standards in this area, ensuring a human-rights based,  gender-sensitive, interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral approach.
