Description
The European Commission supported the Ministry of Finance of Baden-Württemberg (Germany), the Regional Ministry of Environment of Lombardy (Italy) and the Hellenic Ministry of Economy and Finance (Greece) in strengthening green budgeting practices and integrating climate and environmental objectives into public budgeting processes. The project provided tailored technical assistance, including the development and piloting of green budget tagging methodologies, capacity-building activities, peer exchanges with EU administrations and policy recommendations. The expected results aimed at improving methodological tools, enhancing governance arrangements and increasing awareness of green budgeting practices, as well as supporting the progressive integration of climate considerations into budget decision-making.
