Project

Strengthening of the regional public transport zero-emission bus fleet (Mission 2, Component 2, Investment 4.4.1a)

Italy's Recovery and Resilience Plan provides this investment, which consists in the procurement of at least 3,000 zero-emission low-floor buses and at least 1,000 charging stations for zero-and low-emission low-floor buses. Buses shall be equipped with digital features. Eligible buses are low-floor and are either electric or hydrogen fuel cell.

The investment is financed by Italy's Recovery and Resilience plan by EUR 1,650 million.

This specific project involves the procurement of zero-emission electric buses for the city of Cagliari, operated by CTM. Thanks to RRF funding allocated by the Municipality, the goal is to make the entire bus fleet electric by 2030, with comfortable vehicles equipped with modern digital technology.
