The upgrade of the Ljubljana railway station - Increasing railway infrastructure capacity

The renovation of the Ljubljana railway station phase A Dunajska overpass within RRP consist of the construction of a replacement railway overpass across Dunajska cesta to support freight trains with the axle load of category D4 (22,5 t/axle) and train length of 740m. It will include replacing and expanding the structure of the existing railway overpass.

Instead of the current 4 tracks, overpass is built for 6 tracks, 5 of them are established; adjustment of safety signals, telecommunications devices and stable electric traction devices, reconstruction of Dunajska cesta is planned to ensure a bright profile and also flood protection to enhance resilience to weather impacts.
