Improve energy efficiency, in cinema, theatres and museums  (Mission 1, Component 3, Investment 1.3)

Italy’s Recovery and Resilience Plan provides for the improvement of the energy efficiency of buildings linked to the cultural and creative sector. They are often found in outdated, energy inefficient facilities that generate high maintenance costs related to air-conditioning, lighting, communication and safety. The investment finances actions to improve the energy efficiency of Italian museums, cinemas and theatres (both public and private).

The investment is financed by Italy’s Recovery and Resilience plan by EUR 210 million.

The project of the Storchi theatre in Modena is part of the investment. The aim of the project is the energy requalification of the Storchi Theatre, which is owned by the City of Modena. To this end, interventions are planned both on the building envelope (transparent vertical components) and on the systems (heating, hot water production, lighting). The project is financed by EUR 400.000.

More specifically:

  1. Building restoration works: upgrading of existing window frames (restoration/restoration of existing window frames with replacement of the glazed element);
  2. Systems interventions: electrical and lighting systems (replacement of traditional incandescent bulbs with LED bulbs in existing historical and valuable chandeliers; replacement of lighting fixtures in the toilets, offices, service toilets and technical rooms with lighting fixtures equipped with light and presence sensors and/or management systems); heating/mechanical systems (interventions on air conditioning heating system; domestic hot water production system; mechanical ventilation system).
