The parliament adopted the Resolution on the national programme of protection against natural and other disasters in October 2024.
The Resolution upgrades the organisation, preparedness, competence and response to climate-related disasters. It establishes specialised modular response units and changes the normative legal and other bases in the field of protection against natural and other disasters accordingly.
The newly established modular structures at different levels will cover the entire territory of Slovenia and the entire population by 30 June 2026, with a particular focus on areas of significant impact of different climate-related disasters and vulnerable groups.
