Construction of New Schools through Building Replacement (Mission 2 - Component 3 - Investment 1.1)
Italy’s Recovery and Resilience Plan provides for the progressive replacement of part of the building stock of public schools with the aim of creating modern and sustainable structures.
The objectives of the interventions are the reduction of energy consumption, an increased seismic safety of buildings, and the development of green areas.
The plan is expected to target 166 school buildings, with a total of 400 thousand m².
The investment is financed by Italy’s Recovery and Resilience plan by EUR 1 billion.
The project is part of this investment.
The future school is designed in line with the new teaching approaches: classrooms are thematic, set up with specific elements and tools according to the different disciplines, and it is therefore the students who move in the hour change to reach the place of class, so that they experience the school more fully in all its environments, without always being in one classroom.
The new institute will have 19 classrooms, and will be able to accommodate a total of 463 pupils (255 for primary and 208 for secondary).
The orientation of the three-story central building will be such as to ensure maximum lighting.
Leaning against the central body are 3 volumes intended for the library, auditorium and gymnasium, respectively.
This solution limits the building's ground footprint to a total covered area of 2,230 square meters, on an area of 12,320 square meters.
The elementary school will be on the ground floor, with direct access to a dedicated garden.
Library, auditorium, gymnasium, administration and cafeteria will also be on the ground floor, so as to ensure maximum accessibility to the public and a direct connection with the outside world.
On the second and third floors, classrooms and spaces for secondary school students.
A photovoltaic system with a total capacity of 133.45 kWp is planned on the main building to serve the new school complex.
