The project aims to fully restore the Vayazit Mosque in Didymoteicho and reconstruct its roof, which was destroyed in the fire of March 22, 2017.
The Vayazit Mosque, one of the most significant buildings constructed in the European territories of the Ottoman Empire before the fall of Constantinople, was inaugurated in March 1420.
The project will be carried out through the execution of sub-projects concerning restoration, maintenance and archaeological works.
The completion of the project will contribute to the preservation and promotion of one of the most important monuments of Ottoman heritage in Greece.
