The RENOVAL 2 programme aims to strengthen the industrial value chain of clean energy technologies and their key components in Spain, enhancing strategic autonomy, energy security and industrial competitiveness. The initiative supports manufacturing projects across a wide range of technologies, including solar, wind, hydrogen, energy storage, grid technologies and energy efficiency solutions.
The programme is funded with EUR 355 million under the Recovery and Resilience Facility, specifically under the REPowerEU chapter (C31.I3). It provides grants through a competitive process to industrial projects that contribute to the decarbonisation of the economy and comply with the “do no significant harm” principle.
The programme is currently open for applications, with projects to be implemented across the national territory. It is expected to mobilise significant industrial investment and accelerate the deployment of clean technologies while reinforcing Spain’s position in strategic renewable value chains.
