Construction of New Schools through Building Replacement (Mission 2 - Component 3 - Investment 1.1).
Italy’s Recovery and Resilience Plan provides for the progressive replacement of part of the building stock of public schools with the aim of creating modern and sustainable structures.
The objectives of the interventions are the reduction of energy consumption, an increased seismic safety of buildings, and the development of green areas.
The plan is expected to target 166 school buildings, with a total of 400 thousand m².
The investment is financed by Italy’s Recovery and Resilience plan by EUR 1 billion.
The project restoring the school in Via Manzoni 8 is part of this investment.
The project goal is the seismic improvement with reinforcement and securing process of the building used as a primary school, following the assessments of its seismic vulnerability.
The interventions can be summarized as follows:
- construction of stiffening seam at the top
- improvement of the transverse rigidity of the plane
- replacement of existing shutters and painting of facades after repairs
- construction of fire safety ladder to replace existing one
- circle pillars ground floor and gym
- depreciation of masonry heads
- safety measures
- localised repairs to the C.A. sections of sanitary facilities
- renovation of basement bathrooms
- waterproofing portion overlooking via de amicis
- rainwater collection and draining well
- construction of new gym roof
- securing the garden and including games
The amount of NRRP funds allocated to the project are equal to EUR 700,000 state of work: completed.
