This reform aims to increase the quality of teaching and learning outcomes, especially for children from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds, by implementing single shift, full day teaching in primary schools and increasing the number of mandatory teaching hours.
There are 62 primary schools in Croatian piloting this reform from 2023/2024 to 2026/2027 and Ivan Cankar school is the only school in Zagreb participating. Director-General Gauer visited the project as part of the annual RRF event in Zagreb 20 January 2025.
