Plan for nurseries and preschools and early childhood education and care services (Mission 4, Component 1, Investment 1.1)
Italy’s Recovery and Resilience Plan includes an investment plan for the 0-6 age group, aimed at increasing the supply of childcare facilities by building, renovating and ensuring the safety of nurseries and preschools, to ensure an increase in the educational offer and the available slots for the 0-6 age group, and thus improve teaching quality. The measure is expected to encourage women’s participation in the labour market and support caregivers in reconciling family and professional life.
The investment is financed by Italy’s Recovery and Resilience plan by EUR 3.2 billion.
The redevelopment and expansion of the nursery school "Il Fantabosco" is part of this investment. Activities will include functional redevelopment, securing and expansion of the nursery school.
The project aims to respond to the needs of the community by strengthening the offer of educational services of the "Il Fantabosco" nursery school by increasing the number of children who can be accommodated: from 69 to 90. The expansion will be achieved through the construction of a new structurally autonomous building, using the same type of construction as the existing building.
Project objectives will include:
- the increase of the seismic safety index to 0.82;
- the improvement of the energy class up to letter D;
- fire-fighting adaptation.
This project is financed by the Recovery and Resilience Facility with EUR 1.520.000,00.
