The aim of the project was to acquire new areas for educational institutions that pursue the goal of building highly energy-efficient buildings with a primary energy requirement that is at least 20% lower than the requirement for a nearly zero-energy building. The DNSH principle is taken into account, and the measures are designed in a way that does not harm the environment.
Secondary School of Technical Professions Šiška has carried out the construction of an extension on the north side of the existing building, which has provided a much-needed dining room with a distribution kitchen, a socializing area and toilets on the ground floor, and five modern professional classrooms, an office for employees, a meeting room, a socializing area and toilets on the first floor.
In addition, they have acquired space for the school archive, a small fitness room and a new heating station in the basement. At the same time, the project has also improved the surroundings of the school, where, in addition to a well-maintained playground and socializing areas, a new bicycle shed has been built for students, and an additional parking lot has been arranged for employees, with two charging stations with the ability to charge four electric cars at the same time.
The Recovery and Resilience Facility provided funding of EUR 4 million, while the total value of the investment was EUR 5.5 million. The project started in November 2021 and was finalised in December 2024.
