Delivered buses are Scania Higer Fencer models, Class II vehicles with a length of 12.5 m. The manufacturer emphasizes that their power and torque are comparable to diesel-powered units.
The vehicles are equipped with a device to facilitate boarding for wheelchair users, adapted for transporting persons with disabilities, and allowing easy access for strollers. In addition, the buses feature a passenger information system with voice announcements and electronic displays showing stops along the route.
The signed contract and subsequent delivery mark a major step in the development of a low-emission fleet used for public transport services by PKS in Rzeszów S.A. After completing all planned purchases of natural gas-powered buses, their total number in the Rzeszów PKS fleet will increase within a year from 3 to 44, accounting for one-third of the company’s total fleet.
