The Recovery and Resilience Facility provides EUR 142 million to support Bulgaria’s research and innovation performance, technology transfer and information-sharing.

EUR 120 million go for the implementation of innovation programs by 10 research higher education institutions.

The Trakia University receives BGN 12 million from the RRP for the project "Research and innovation development at Trakia University in service of health and sustainable well-being". The project duration is 42 months.

Project objectives:

To present a novel framework for advancing Trakia University into a research institution by adopting a Strategic Research and Innovation Development Programme. This programme entails the financing of four key domains: 
• Intelligent Agricultural Production for Functional and Healthy Food and Additives; 
• Molecular Medicine - Linking Basic and Clinical Research; 
• Digitalisation, Innovation and Industry; 
• Hydrogen and Fuel Cells.

A Technology Transfer Office (TTO) shall be founded at Trakia University with the objective to facilitate the conversion of knowledge, research findings and inventions produced by the university into novel goods, methods, and services to benefit the public.
