The reform aims to accelerate the development of offshore wind by publishing a Government policy statement on the development of offshore wind, approval of Parliament for a spatial plan for offshore wind - the South Coast Designated Maritime Area Plan (SC-DMAP) and the award of contract for difference support to the winner of the first auction within that SC-DMAP.
The Policy Statement has been published and the SC-DMAP approved by Parliament. Supports will be awarded by Q1 2026.
