This project, part of the Innovation Agendas for Agriculture 2030, brings together academia and agricultural companies to develop an integrated strategy for using acorns as a sustainable raw material for flour and value-added products such as starch, antioxidants, and oils.
Key actions include:
- Building a network of producers and collection sites.
- Optimising harvesting and processing costs.
- Assessing scalability for continuous supply.
- Developing and testing innovative composite products.
- Creating a marketing and export strategy.
- Evaluating the social, economic, and environmental impacts of the value chain.
The project received RRP funding of EUR 763 300.
