The objective of this reform is to enhance the quality of education and consequently students’ educational outcomes. This measure consists in the introduction of a new teacher and school evaluation system for primary, secondary and technical and vocational education.
The new school evaluation system was adopted by the Council of Ministers with its Decision No. 996/2023 on 06/09/2023 and implemented as of school year 2024/2025 through a Circular issued by the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth (MOESY) on 29/08/2024.
The new Teacher and School Evaluation system was approved by the House of Representatives on 22/12/2025 and came into force upon publication of the Regulations on the new teacher and school evaluation (Annex IV, R. 426/2025) and the amended Educational Service Law (Annex V, L.246(I)/2025), in the Official Gazette of the Republic, on 31/12/2025.
