The reform focuses on enhancing the scope and quality of cancer prevention programs with the aim to reduce morbidity and mortality of cancer cases, limit the costs of treatment at advanced stages of the disease and increase life expectancy and quality of life.
It includes appointment of the National Screening Centre by the Czech Government as the body responsible not only for coordination, but also for strategic planning, evaluation and development of screening programs across the Czech Republic.
