The project, financed with EUR 1,18 million from the Recovery and Resilience Facility, was developed according to the goals and priorities of the "Modernization of the educational environment" procedure.
The building is an educational complex consisting of a four-story interconnected study building, a two-story assembly hall, a two-story gym hall, and a three-story building.
The main academic building and the gym hall were built and put into operation in 1969. The assembly hall and the three-story building were completed and put into operation in 1975.
"Lyuben Karavelov" Primary school in the village of Trudovets is a school that strives to meet modern requirements for an innovative, energy-efficient, supportive and motivating educational environment.
The project envisages the installation of a photovoltaic plant for the production of electricity for the school's own needs as a whole.
Energy-saving measures have been implemented for the main educational building, as the project provides the conversion of the three-story educational building in accordance with the regulatory requirements for energy efficiency and the implementation of the following energy-saving measures:
- complete replacement of the existing old windows and external doors;
- complete thermal insulation of external walls
- thermal insulation of a roof /for the whole educational building/
- measures on heating systems
- construction of a building automation and management system
- replacement of old lighting fixtures with energy-saving LED lighting fixtures /for the whole educational building/.
The project also envisages the reconstruction of part of the premises in order to provide an accessible architectural environment and change the purpose of part of the rooms of the three-story building for establishment of multifunctional areas, according to the identified needs of the management of the educational institution.
