Modernization and introduction of energy efficiency measures in Lyuben Karavelov Secondary School, Dobrich

The project "Modernization and introduction of energy efficiency measures in secondary school “’L. Karavelov", financed with EUR 2,3 million from the Recovery and Resilience Facility, aims modernizing the building of the school, built way back in 1991, although no major repair until now.

The project is based on an up-to-date technical and energy survey, including the technical passport and the energy efficiency certificate. The planned measures selected in the energy efficiency certificate will lead to the achievement of the following results:

  • Modernized educational infrastructure ;
  • Achieved energy efficiency and thermal comfort, class "A";
  • Creation of accessible environment in the site, with appropriate architectural and socio-living conditions.

In order to achieve these results, according to the Law on public procurement, a contractor will be appointed to engineer according to technical specifications and the Law of the territory.

In accordance with the technical project, there will be major repairs in all spaces, construction of an accessible environment for persons with disabilities and the following energy-saving measures will be held:

  • thermal insulation of the external walls, floor and roof of the building;
  • replacement of windows and lighting fixtures;
  • introduction of a heating/cooling system, a building automation and control system and a DHW preparation system;
  • construction of a hybrid photovoltaic system for the production of electricity for own needs.

It is also planned delivery and installation of equipment and furniture for specialized natural science offices.
