The project, financed with EUR 1,27 million from the Recovery and Resiliene Facility, aims at modernizing the educational infrastructure of Elementary school "Kliment Ohridski" - Plovdiv, by carrying out interventions for: major repair, renovation, introduction of EE measures and a three-story extension to the main building of the school, to achieve a complete renewed appearance and environment of the institution providing education to 263 kids.
The above will be implemented through a set of interrelated interventions, incl.:
- Implementation of EE measures in the building to achieve Class A and meet the requirement for buildings with close to zero energy consumption, incl. a PV source for own consumption;
- Ensuring the accessibility of the environment, in acc. with the requirements of Ordinance No. RD-02-20-2/26.01.2021, incl. through the addition and installation of an elevator to improve the access of people with disabilities to and in the area of the building covered in the project;
- Activities to achieve the requirements and standards of Ordinance No. 24/2020, incl.: renovation and remodeling of classrooms and spaces, etc.;
- Completion of a three-story addition to the building and allocation of 6 new classrooms, a library with a recreation area, etc. to ensure conditions for introducing a single-shift model of education;
- Major repair, reconstruction and renovation of the school building, incl. renovation of yard space;
- Delivery and installation of equipment and furniture.
All interventions are in acc. with the principle of "do no significant harm" and are planned in acc. with the Tech. guidance of Reg. of RRF and the Spatial Development Act, the EE Act, the cited Ordinances, and relevant legislation, aiming to achieve a renewed image of the school to ensure conditions for quality and modern education, increase the motivation for learning, self-training and improving the educational results of students.
