The goal of the investment is to modernise the Chamartín–Clara Campoamor station to enhance sustainable mobility, boost railway capacity and improve passenger intermodality.

The project includes four new high-speed tracks, expansion of the main concourse, a new taxi platform, reinforcement of the viaduct structure and the reopening of the Hiedra Street crossing. A new 2,300 m² underground passage has been completed to connect high-speed services with the central Cercanías and metro hall.

The investment amounts to €209 million from the Recovery and Resilience Plan, as part of a broader €557 million transformation programme.

Work is progressing in phases while keeping the station operational.
