The project optimizes the degraded green area in Kranj's Kokra River canyon, enhancing accessibility and infrastructure. It addresses limitations in experiencing the attraction and aims to fully utilize well-visited underground tunnels. Developments include paths, access points, and a pedestrian bridge, fostering a comprehensive city experience. Modern digital tools enhance user experience and operational efficiency for tourism providers.

The project will establish paths and accesses in the canyon on the right bank, links between canyon, the tunnels and city centre, and the area in front of the tunells entrances with associated facilities (platforms, tunnels entrances, multifunctional facilities and toiletries). By doing so, the aim is to make the canyon and biotic features of the canton more widely available, which will increase the educational potential of the canyon. At the same time, natural heritage will be linked to cultural developments in the tunnels and two parts of Kranj through the walking bridge under the city. This will offer visitors a comprehensive urban experience also with thes use of modern digital tools and solutions that will provide a high-quality user experience and increase the efficiency of tourism operators’ operations.

The Recovery and Resilience Facility provides funding of EUR 144,328, while the total investment is worth EUR 789.088,28. The project will be finalised by the August 2025.
