Digital services and citizen experience (Mission 1, Component 1, Investment 1.4)

Italy's Recovery and Resilience Plan provides this investment to develop an integrated and harmonized offering of state-of-theart citizen-oriented digital services, ensure their wide-spread adoption thereof across both central and local administrations and enhance users’ experience. The investment is financed by Italy’s Recovery and Resilience plan by EUR 561 million.

As part of this investment, the "Citizen Inclusion" project focuses on improving digital public service accessibility through three main objectives: meeting at least 50% of assistive technology needs for disabled workers' IT access, providing targeted digital accessibility training, and reducing errors by 50% in at least two post-login digital services.
Key interventions include:
Reducing accessibility errors in digital services (specifically targeting services related to the One-Stop Shop for Construction – SUE – including Amnesty Procedures, SICER, Digital Rectification Requests, and Agility in construction);
Training Roma Capitale staff (enhancing knowledge of accessibility legislation, international standards, and methods for designing, implementing, and evaluating accessible digital content, sites, and applications. The training will also extend to management, raising awareness of responsibilities and promoting strategic planning for ICT accessibility in public administration);
Providing assistive technology and software (procuring tools to facilitate IT service access and reduce barriers for employees with disabilities).
