School building security and structural rehabilitation plan (Mission 4 – Component 1 - Investment 3.3)
Italy’s Recovery and Resilience Plan contributes to climate recovery also by enhancing school buildings’ safety and energy consumption.
In particular, this measure aims to contribute to the improvement of energy classes and leading to lower consumption and CO2 emissions as well as to increase structural safety of buildings.
Particular attention is paid to the most disadvantaged areas with the aim of tackling and eliminating economic and social imbalances.
The investment is financed by Italy’s Recovery and Resilience plan by EUR 4.4 billion.
The project consisting in structural interventions is part of this investment.
The I.I.S. Camillo Olivetti is established in the a.y. 1997-98 following the aggregation between the I.T.I.S. Camillo Olivetti and the I.P.S.I.A. Massimo Olivetti of Ivrea.
The Institutes were born in the sixties as an emanation of two Training Centers of the company "Olivetti", which has constituted for the territory of Canavese an economic and socio-cultural reference.
The school complex in question is located in Ivrea (TO), in Colle Bellavista.
The school complex, in particular, consists of two perpendicular and rectangular sleeves (hereinafter referred to as A and B), connected by a body almost square (of later construction and currently occupied by the auditorium), from the sleeve called "C", (former boarding school "Europe", converted to school use in the second half of the 1970s).
West of the main body and slightly higher position, the workshops are housed in a large one-storey building with a bearing structure in metal carpentry.
The complex also includes two gyms and the thermal power plant.
The interventions planned for Manica A are: the refitting of about 1200 square meters of coverage in corrugated sheet; the complete renovation and redistribution of 160 square meters of toilets (located in the basement, ground floor and first floor); the renovation of the curbs of the entrance ramp; the replacement of n. 3 doors-access windows to the institute for a total of about 60 sq m.
As for Channel B is planned to replace 100 sq m of window frames in the office and auditorium area.
Finally, the complete renovation and redistribution of male toilets is planned, female, HC and professors in the workshops, for a total of 70 square meters.
