This investment aims to address challenges related to the future availability of nuclear medicine radioisotopes for cancer treatment.
It will do so through new infrastructure at the Belgian nuclear research centre SCK CEN and a study aiming to close the gap between existing technologies and the needs identified for enabling a large-scale production of a specific radioisotope.
The project will benefit from EUR 15 million from the Recovery and Resilience Facility. Implementation is due to be completed by 2026.
