Investment 1.7.1 River Basin Management Plan – Enhanced Ambition Programme: Feasibility studies on at least 20 wastewater treatment plants

Uisce Éireann’s River Basin Management Plan – Enhanced Ambition Programme is a €20 million project with 3 sub-measures:

1. €17m: Upgrade of at least 10 small wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) not scheduled for upgrade in the current investment period.
2. €2m: Feasibility studies on at least 20 WWTP, which can then progress quickly to planning and construction in the next investment period.
3. €1m: Monitoring and assessment of water quality at 20 sites across Ireland.  All works are expected to be completed by end September 2025.
