One of the challenges for the Lithuanian science community is the lack of capacity and motivation to prepare international R&I proposals. This project aims to aid preparing a proposal for submission under the Horizon Europe programme, Pillar I – Excellent Science, within the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships scheme, with the call expected in 2025.
The goal of this project is to conduct preliminary scientific research related to the topic of the planned postdoctoral fellowship: the investigation of the properties of an epoxy resin and silicon composite affected by ultrashort laser pulses, specifically its ability to adsorb and chemically bind catalysts for electroless metal deposition. Surface property analysis of the composite material treated with ultrashort pulse laser irradiation and exposed to a silver catalyst will be carried out using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, in order to assess the feasibility of the research concept. The project was completed in February 2025. EUR 29 856,89 was allocated from the Recovery and Resilience Facility.
