The building subject of the project is located in the town of Oryahovo, 23 "Kosta Lulchev" street. It was built in 1930 as a school and is still used for its intended purpose.
The building has 3 floors with monolithic construction, consists of two buildings. The roof is pitched, with a wooden structure, without thermal insulation. Heating is provided by a local coal-fired steam plant. Access to the building is through two entrances.
The project, financed with EUR 2.3 million from he Recovery and Resilience Facility, envisages carrying out a package of measures to achieve energy efficiency in the building of SU "Hristo Botev", Oryahovo:
- thermal insulation of walls, roof and floor;
- replacement of windows and doors;
- installation of an air-to-air heat pump system;
- replacement of all lighting fixtures with LED;
- installation of a photovoltaic system;
- improving the access of persons with disabilities to and inside the relevant building.
More than 307 students, a large part of them from minority groups, are educated daily at SU "Hristo Botev".
