The investments promotes rail transport and connectivity with urban centres. It improves accessibility of railway stations to a wider population, including people with disabilities.
The selected projects shall improve the transport service, both for passenger and freight transport:
A. Through the upgrading of major railway stations on the regional network:
- Ljubljana,
- Grosuplje,
- Domžale and
- Nova Gorica.
B. Through the upgrading of a part of the (both routes currently do not meet existing traffic volumes and are important for cross-border freight transport.):
- Ljubljana – Divača railway line and
- Ljubljana – Jesenice railway line
The Recovery and Resilience Facility provides funding of EUR 292.61 million.
