
The goal of the investment is to deploy a new European Artificial Intelligence Factory at the Supercomputing Center of Galicia (CESGA).
The project will acquire a dedicated AI supercomputer and an advanced experimental computing platform designed for applications in personalised medicine, healthy ageing, marine resources, blue biotechnology, agriculture, forestry, pharmaceuticals, environmental biotechnology and circular bioeconomy.
The Government of Spain contributes €24 million through the Recovery and Resilience Plan, complemented by funding from EuroHPC JU and the regional government of Galicia, reaching a total of €82 million.
Implementation has begun, reinforcing Spain’s leadership in AI and expanding access to advanced digital infrastructure for researchers, companies and startups.
