The RRF will improve access to capital for the development of new green technologies in strategic areas such as energy, agriculture, food industry, transport and logistics, materials and chemical industries.
Funding is provided for companies and sectors whose products, services or processes are characterized by research-intensive green technologies and who contribute to solving environmental problems, developing new products, services or technologies that reduce or capture greenhouse gas emissions or are driven by eco-design requirements.
By mid-2026, at least EUR 90 million will be invested in venture capital funds, managed by the public fund manager SmartCap.
