The measure aims to ensure greater participation of women in the labour market and promote transparency to improve women’s working conditions through the implementation and enforcement of a national gender equality certification system. The certification is released to companies upon the respect of defined standards in terms of, for example, growth opportunities for women and maternity protection, to which incentives are attached.
The gender equality certification system was finalized in 2022, with more than 100 companies already obtaining the certification over the year. The Recovery and Resilience Facility finances the measure with EUR 10 million, with the main aim to support SMEs in the certification process. A dedicated IT system has been created and is operational.
