In line with the sustainability goals adopted by Swarovski, a purely electric melting unit is to be newly developed and subsequently realized. Due to the complete elimination of fossil burners in normal operation, extensive conceptual changes are absolutely necessary.
The changes require precise engineering of the technical solution in order to be able to achieve the process and the highest glass quality required. The annual savings in greenhouse gas emissions are expected to amount to 440 tons after completion of the project. The project is currently in the construction phase.
