The Strategy focuses on a proactive and prevention-oriented approach to long-term care in order to achieve the best quality of life for all and to reduce periods of functional decline and loss of capacity, ensuring independence and social participation.
It includes measures to develop services for elderly people who have retained their functional autonomy (Action Direction 2.1), as well as interventions focused on promoting active and dignified social participation of elderly people (Specific Objective 6), implemented through Action Direction 6.1.
Organise actions to raise awareness on active ageing and Action Direction 6.2 Improve accessibility of social infrastructure and public space.
