**Importance of the project for the implementation of KPO and REPowerEU goals**_x000D_
The Żarnowiec BESS project is directly linked to the objectives of investment G1.1.3 of the KPO, which envisages the development of energy storage systems as a means to enhance energy security, the flexibility of the power system, and the integration of renewable energy sources. The Żarnowiec energy storage facility:_x000D_
• increases the stability of the National Power System, enabling an immediate response to changes in renewable energy generation (with response times measured in fractions of a second),_x000D_
• enables the balancing of energy surpluses generated during periods of high production from wind and photovoltaic farms, and their release during periods of high demand,_x000D_
• strengthens national infrastructure in the context of the energy transition, reducing dependence on imported energy resources,_x000D_
• contributes to systemic efforts to improve the efficiency of renewable energy sources, serving as an example of a large-scale storage facility integrated with local infrastructure (RES, pumped-storage power plant)._x000D_

Additionally, the project is based on local content, meaning the use of the domestic value chain: batteries are produced at the LG Energy Solution factory in Wrocław, and the infrastructure is built by Polish companies. This highlights the importance of the investment for the national economy and innovation in the energy sector._x000D_
