The project aims to establish an electrolyser manufacturing plant in Getxo (Basque Country), contributing to the development of a competitive and locally integrated renewable hydrogen value chain. The facility will initially focus on the production of alkaline electrolysers, with a second phase dedicated to the development of proprietary technologies.
The investment is supported by EUR 10 million in public funding within the framework of the IPCEI Hy2Tech initiative, which promotes innovation, industrial deployment and technological advancement in the hydrogen sector across Europe.
The project combines industrial manufacturing with research and development activities in collaboration with European and Spanish technology centres. It is currently under implementation and is expected to reinforce Spain’s industrial capabilities in hydrogen technologies while supporting the Basque Hydrogen Corridor ecosystem.
