Demolition and reconstruction of public housing in Via dei Giaggioli (Milano, Lombardia)

  • Project

Innovative Plan for Housing Quality - PINQuA (Mission 5 Component 2 – Investment 2.3)

Italy's Recovery and Resilience plan provides for the development of new public residential buildings to address housing challenges, especially focusing on existing public assets and revitalizing degraded areas. The emphasis is on green innovation and sustainability. The investment consists of two main strategies, both executed without using new land: upgrading and expanding social housing, enhancing urban quality, improving accessibility and safety; and targeted initiatives on public residential buildings with significant strategic impact nationally.

The investment is financed by Italy's Recovery and Resilience plan by EUR 1.4 billion.

As part of this investment, the project involves the complete demolition and reconstruction of a public housing complex at Via dei Giaggioli in Milan, comprising 175 apartments. The new building will be highly energy-efficient and will feature quality housing, new public spaces and green areas.
