Cybersecurity on wheels: Strengthening the government digital backbone and investing in digital solutions

Project

Under this investment a Mobile Incident Response and Digital Forensics Vehicle for the Malta Information Technology Agency (MITA) was procured. The vehicle works as a mobile digital forensics laboratory, allowing MITA staff to collect digital evidence at the source rather than transporting it back to the MITA premises. This reduces the risk of tampering, protects the chain of custody, and helps ensure that the evidence remains admissible in court or in disciplinary proceedings. The same vehicle also serves as a mobile Security Operations Centre, so that monitoring and incident responses can continue during national events or in cases where the MITA premises are not accessible. It also gives MITA personnel a remote office space when delivering services on site.
