Plan for nurseries and preschools and early childhood education and care services (Mission 4 – Component 1 - Investment 1.1)
Italy’s Recovery and Resilience Plan includes an investment plan for the 0-6 age group, aimed at increasing the supply of childcare facilities by building, renovating and ensuring the safety of nurseries and preschools, to ensure an increase in the educational offer and the available slots for the 0-6 age group, and thus improve teaching quality. The measure is expected to encourage women’s participation in the labour market and support caregivers in reconciling family and professional life.
The investment is financed by Italy’s Recovery and Resilience plan by EUR 3.2 billion.
As part of this investment, the project involves the construction of a municipal nursery in Via Marconi, through the construction of a new facility on a single floor parallel to that road and in front of the municipal gym at the entrance to the residential centre. The building is built on a single level and has an overall floor area of approximately 462.00 m². Asylum is divided into 3 sections with an accommodation capacity of 55 children, aged between 3 and 36 months.
The layout of the new nursery consists of four main blocks: the classroom block, located in the south-west area; the connection block, to the north-east, which includes spaces for free activities; the north-east block with independent external access, housing the cafeteria services; and finally, the north-west block, which contains the service areas and the main entrance with a portico.
This project is financed by the Recovery and Resilience Facility with EUR 1.380.000,00. The work is being carried out in a state of progress of 15 %.
