The Municipality of Zalaegerszeg County City committed to constructing a new nursery building as part of the project to improve access to early childhood education services. The design chosen from the nursery prototype catalog, model BMTK2021-043, fits the streetscape of the district and, with minor modifications and site adaptations, has been made suitable for operating a mini-nursery accommodating two groups and 16 children. The Andráshida mini-nursery has been licensed to operate since the end of August 2024 and is already welcoming children.
The investment also covers supplementary equipment and infrastructure, such as classroom furnishings, furniture, playgrounds, and bicycle parking. During the construction of the new buildings, the primary energy demand must be at least 20% below the requirements for nearly zero-energy buildings. The favorable energy rating of the new building allows for reduced maintenance costs and contributes to climate protection.
The Municipality of Zalaegerszeg received a grant of about EUR 0.6 million for this project.
The project was completed in May 2024 and the nursery is in operation.
