The new Naval Platform, part of component 10 dedicated to investment in the sea, shall be used in emergency operations, surveillance, scientific and technological research as well as environmental and meteorological monitoring.
It consists of building a multidisciplinary reference platform, integrating frontier technology and extending the functionalities of an ocean surveillance and oceanographic research vessel to other scenarios such as emergency (e.g., attending to oil spills or ""blooms"" of plastics, algae or jellyfish) or monitoring activities of the ecology of the sea and integrating new technological means of observation, ocean monitoring and intervention such as aerial or underwater robotic systems.
It receives RRP funding of EUR 94.5 million.
