Financing contracts for the expansion of the Red Metro Line from Lisbon Metropolitan to Alcântara and the construction of the Metro Light Surface Railway from Odivelas to Loures have been concluded. The Recovery and Resilience Facility provides financial support for their delivery. This investment will provide an important transport link with suburban rail services and contribute to the improvement of mobility in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area.
The investment contract for the “Expansion of the network from Metro de Lisbon – Red Line to Alcântara” provides for funding of EUR 304 million. The contract for the ‘Metro Ligeiro de Surface Odivelas-Loures’ provides for funding of EUR 250 million, corresponding to the total investment cost for both projects.
