The new facilities will ensure 23,000 square meters of surfaces.
The project will contribute to:
- an increase in spatial and personnel capacities based on increased enrolment and the number of graduates (doctors and dentists);
- improved skills of graduates to ensure the growing needs of the healthcare system;
- increasing personnel and service capacity in the field of diagnostics to achieve a greater number of treatments in public health during the epidemic;
- the establishment of a centre for learning clinical skills for doctors and dentists and health workers in out-of-hospital conditions and thus to ensure safer and better treatment of patients in the hospital environment;
- better working conditions for other employees;
- wider and better access to health-social integrated multidisciplinary care.
The contract to carry out the construction works was signed in February 2024.
The works are expected to be finalised by June 2026.
The total value of the investment is EUR 84.8 million, with RRF co-funding of EUR 40 million.
