This project, funded with a grant of €6,400,000 from the NextGenerationEU fund (21% of the total budget), envisages the construction of a biogas plant to generate electricity and heat for all public facilities in the capital of Moianès.
With a capacity of 1,200 kW, this plant is expected to also provide power for the street lighting throughout the municipality, the wells and pumps of the municipal water company, the municipal fleet of electric vehicles, and public charging stations.
Additionally, it is anticipated that 20% of its production can be allocated to industry and the population through a local energy community.
The plant will be fueled by waste from manure, wastewater treatment plants, the food industry, and the municipal organic fraction.
