The project aims to strengthen biomedical research and innovation in Granada through a portfolio of collaborative initiatives under the PERTE for Vanguard Health. It focuses on advancing diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases, particularly in areas such as oncology, advanced therapies and digital health.
The investment amounts to more than EUR 13 million under the Recovery and Resilience Facility, including EUR 10 million in grants, EUR 2 million in loans and over EUR 1 million in mobilised private investment. The programme supports projects led by research institutions, universities and healthcare providers, including initiatives such as CERTERA, which connects Granada to a national network of advanced therapy centres.
The project is currently under implementation, with multiple research lines underway, including early cancer detection, personalised treatments, development of biomaterials and improved access to clinical trials. It is expected to reinforce Granada’s position as a leading biomedical research hub and contribute to innovation in the Spanish healthcare system.
